Entering 5K Camp:

Go Outdoors....Camp! (Entering 5K ) is a partial day camp designed just for inquisitive and active minds! Each day will include outdoor explorations, an encounter with a live animal, a craft activity, a story, and a camp song. In a guided and creative setting, children discover how exciting and fun the great outdoors can be!

  • May 30 - June 2
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $140.00 for members
  • $160.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

1st - 2nd Grade Camp:

Go Outdoors....Camp! (1st-2nd) is a partial day camp designed to support 1st-2nd Grade inquisitive minds and active nature! We will explore the outdoors, hike trails, and encounter a live native animals. Join us for fun songs, crafts, and activities!

  • May 30 - June 02
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $140.00 for members
  • $160.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

3rd - 4th Grade Camp:

Go Outdoors...Camp! (3rd-4th) engages young campers in a variety of outdoor nature activities including hiking, wetland exploration, arts and crafts, and outdoor skills (including archery and canoeing to name few. Compare habitats and learn about the plants and animal living in them, net aquatic species, track woodland animals, and munch some wild edibles!

  • June 12 - June 15
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $150.00 for members
  • $175.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

5th - 6th Grade Camp

Go Outdoors...Camp! (Entering 5th-6th) Engages young campers in a variety of outdoor nature activities including hiking, wetland exploration, arts and crafts, and survival skills to name a few. Compare habitats and the plants and animals living in them. Try your hand at archery, net aquatic species, track woodland animals, and munch some wild edibles! We will practice outdoor skills, learn aboutn Mississippi wildife having a daily encounter with native animal on Mon-Wed, camp is from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., on Thursday, camp begins at 8 a.m. and campers will have an overnight. Campers need to be picked up on Friday at 10 a.m.

  • June 19 - June 23
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $150.00 for members
  • $175.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

Junior Naturalist Camp (Grades 7, 8, 9)

Jr.Naturalist Camp (Entering Grades 7,8,9) is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification, collection, and conservation of our native species for students entering Grades 7,8, and 9. On Monday-Wednesday, camp is from 8am-4pm. On Thursday, camp begins at 8am and campers will have an overnight. Campers need to be picked up on Friday at 10am.

  • June 5 - June 9
  • 8AM - 4PM
  • $150.00 for members
  • $175.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

Field Camp (Grades 10, 11, 12):

Field Camp (Grades 10,11,12) Field Camp is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification, collection, and conservation of our native species for students entering Grades 10-12. On Monday-Thursday, camp is from 8am-5pm with an overnight on Wednesday night at Camp Shelby. We are happy to partner with the MS National Guard Environmental Department for Field Camp. Limited Space available for this camp!

  • June 27 - June 30
  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • $200.00 for members
  • $225.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

Preschool Summer Camp 2017 (2 Sessions)

Preschool Camp is offered to 3-prek 5's.

This year's topic  - Wonderful water! Come join us as we get wet and learn all about the many ways water is used by people and in nature!

Each camp runs for three consecutive weeks on Mondays and offers hands-on natural science experiences for children and their caregivers.

Dates: June 5, June 12, and June 19 - all Mondays
Place: Preschool Room
Cost: Adults $6, Youth ages 3-18 $4, Senior Citizens 60 and over $5, Children under 3 Free; Museum Members FREE
