Fishing Report

Lake Bill Waller - 10/16/2017 12:26:13 PM

Bream can be caught with crickets or worms in shallow water or near structure.  Anglers fishing for bass should also try near lily pads and structure with soft plastics or jerkbaits, watermelon seed and junebug are colors of choice.  As temperatures drop Crappie fishing will rise.  They can be caught along grass edges around the lake, minnows seem to be the best bait but dark colored jigs are effective as well. Catfish are being caught with hot dogs and liver fished on the bottom near the earthen piers and fishing pier across from the maintenance building.

Water Temp: 80°F

Visibility: 36 in.

Note: bass length limit regulations which are in place at Lake Bill Waller: the bag limit is 15 bass/day the slot limit is 18 - 22 in. (none can be in possession) with one fish allowed over 22 in.
