Bass fishing is picking up as they are beginning to bed.
Anglers using buzzbaits topwater around bedding sites are
getting decent bites. Some lucky anglers are starting to see fish
close to 6 lb. Try near the back of the lake and along the dam and
spillway. Look for bream using crickets around deeper structure.
Average size caught is around 0.5 lb. The front of the spillway and
along piers are always good places to try. Crappie fishermen
typically do well in deeper water using minnows or green and black
jigs near structures, especially under overhanging limbs and piers.
Crappie have been biting well around the campground pier as
well as deeper structures in the lake. Catches of a fish
weighing 1.5 lbs are very frequent. Catfish tend to bite great on
livers and hotdogs along the bottom. Most report catches from piers
and shoreline near the office in the evenings. Recent catches have
ranged 3 - 10 lbs with a few even bigger being caught.
