Bass fishing is fair at Natchez. Red shad worms have been working well. A 9.5 pound bass was caught recently, along with several other good fish: a couple of 6 pounders, as well as an 8 and a 9 pound bass. Try throwing rattling crankbaits or tandem-rigged soft plastic flukes to schooling bass. Buzz baits along the dam early and late in the day have also been productive. Junebug colored plastic worms, flukes, and red shad shaky heads have also been effective.
Bream fishing is fair on nightcrawlers and crickets. Also, try tightlining with worms for some of the huge Redear Sunfish that Natchez is known for.
Crappie fishing has picked up, and is good on minnows and jigs fished in 10 - 15 feet of water.
Catfishing is good with worms, liver, cutbait, or your favorite catfish bait.
Fish attractors were added in several locations in February 2015. Be sure your GPS is set to read decimal degrees (shown below) and not degrees-minutes-seconds when attempting to locate the attractors. Coordinates and a map are shown below:
