DWFP-Shooting Range Supervisor

This is administrative and supervisory work in coordinating and directing the operation of a Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks (DWFP) shooting range. The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervision of an assigned shooting range within the DWFP shooting range system with a variety of facilities, and exercises authority over the entire staff of that range. Work requires exercising considerable independent judgment; extensive contact with the public; and the performance of related job duties. The Range Supervisor has extensive knowledge about the operation of firearms of all types, and may be called upon to offer assistance for shooters on the range. The Incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that the entire facility and all operations are maintained at the highest standards, and for maintaining the budget and reports. Supervision is received from the Range Manager or other administrative superior.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university;
One (1) year of experience related to the described duties;
Associate's Degree or sixty-four (64) semester hours from an accredited community college or university;
Three (3) years of experience related to the described duties;
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma);
Five (5) years of experience related to the described duties.
Related education and related experience may be substituted on an equal basis.
Required License and Document:
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
