Since the 1930's, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science has been a leader in protecting our natural heritage while establishing a distinguished national and international reputation. You can make it possible for the Museum to continue and expand its work into the future by contributing to our endowment fund and/or joining the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation today.


Along with the Museum's dedicated Staff, it is through the support of private individuals, families, and corporations who make tax-deductible donations to the Museum's Foundation that the Museum can carry on its research and expose visitors to the wonders of the natural world.

Mississippi has long been one of America's havens for wildlife and natural habitat. However, the pressures of growing population and advancing technology have made it increasingly difficult to protect our state's living heritage. For more than 70 years, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science has stood in the forefront of efforts to raise awareness of the value of our living natural resources.

Visitors from all 50 states and many foreign countries tour the Museum annually. With a magnificent 73,000-square foot facility nestled against a 300-acre natural area, the Museum is able to attract and accommodate more visitors and extend its reach to a wider audience than ever before. But none of these achievements would be possible without the support of a network of concerned citizens working through the non-profit Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation.

Accredited by the  American Museum Association and a member of the  Association of Science - Technology Centers, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science enjoys and shares a number of benefits through its sister organizations.
