JACKSON—Having competed in North and South State qualifying tournaments, more than 3,000 student archers representing schools across Mississippi are gearing up to compete in the 2015 Archery in Mississippi Schools (AIMS) State Tournament, April 14-16 at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center in Jackson.
|VEC to Host Bird Feeder Program|

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) adjacent to Enid Lake will host a bird feeder program on Saturday, July 19 at 2 p.m. Participants will learn how to make feeders from natural items as well as items found around the house. Participants will also learn some interesting facts about common birds seen at backyard feeders.
|2014-2015 Youth Participation Initiative Program Announced|

Jackson – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is pleased to announce the Youth Participation Initiative (YPI) will begin accepting applications on July 1, 2014. The YPI Program was established to provide funding for educating and recruiting youth in the areas of hunting, fishing, and natural resource conservation. During 2013-2014, the YPI Program provided a total of $164,956 to help fund 19 projects across Mississippi.
