Museum of Natural Science Lecture on Habitat and Predator Management

JACKSON - As part of MDWFP's Habitat and Predator Management Month, MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science will feature a guest speaker at its monthly Noon Lecture Series in February. John Gruchy, MDWFP Private Lands Program Coordinator, will present "Strategies for Managing Habitat and Predator Populations to Benefit Target Species," on February 7, at the Museum auditorium.

While predator-prey relationships have been studied for decades, little is known about how current threats, such as landscape-level habitat changes and introduction of non-native species, affects local wildlife populations and food webs. The discussion will focus on habitat management strategies to help wildlife species use their natural adaptations to escape predation, as well as potential strategies to manage predator populations.
