NMFH Tree ID Program
The Visitor Education Center (VEC) adjacent to Enid Lake will host a Tree Identification program on Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m.
Presenting this program is Brady Self who completed his graduate work at MSU, and is now the Northwest Mississippi Extension Forestry Specialist with the Department of Forestry at Mississippi State. The tree identification course is for anyone interested in learning how to identify trees. The program will consist of a short presentation and a hands-on field tour of the trees located around the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and VEC. The hands-on portion will aid participants in learning about the more common tree species in the area.
Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60. If you have any questions, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.
The VEC is part of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks' North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
