JACKSON -MDWFP is hosting a public meeting on September 18 at Black Prairie WMA near Brooksville, MS.  The meeting, which is scheduled from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., will showcase WMA harvest data, habitat work, and infrastructure improvements for East Central WMAs.  All WMA users, adjacent landowners, hunting clubs, and interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
WMAs to be covered at the East Central WMA meeting will be Bienville, Black Prairie, Caney Creek, Choctaw, John Starr, Nanih Waiya, Okatibbee, Pearl River, Tallahala, Trim Cane, and Yockanookany.  "These meetings will give us the opportunity to show the public what we have accomplished on our WMAs, receive input from the public about these activities, and provide information about WMAs," said Chad Dacus, MDWFP Wildlife Bureau Assistant Director.  "These meetings will give us an opportunity to interact with the public and keep them informed about activities on these WMAs."  MDWFP wildlife biologists, WMA personnel, and conservation officers will be in attendance to answer questions from the public.
