Better Gourds and Gardens
JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) adjacent to Enid Lake will host a gourd program September 14 at 2 p.m. Participants young and young at heart will have the opportunity to create birdhouses from different types of gourds. Staff and volunteers will also share some creative, crafting ideas for inside and outside of the home using old flower pots. See examples, share tips, and try your artistic abilities! Supplies are provided but space is limited.
Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60. For questions or to register, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.
The VEC is part of the MDWFP North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
