Public Access Improvements on Malmaison WMA
JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) will begin work this summer on infrastructure improvements on Malmaison Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Improvements will include enhancing parking areas at the McIntyre Scatters and greentree reservoir boat ramps, improving access to ATV trails, and applying gravel to parking and camping areas throughout the WMA. The MDWFP strives to provide reasonable public access on WMAs.
Encompassing 9,483 acres, Malmaison WMA is located near Holcomb, MS in Grenada and Leflore counties. Malmaison WMA is a unique area because it lies within two distinct physiographic regions (Loess Hills and Delta). This WMA provides excellent small game, waterfowl, and deer hunting along with bird watching.
