MDWFP would like to congratulate all students who participated at the 2019 Archery in Mississippi Schools (AIMS) State Championship. Nearly 6,600 students competed at the state championship this year. According to AIMS director Waldo Cleland, AIMS participation statewide is now just shy of 80,000 students, making it the largest sport per capita than any other extracurricular youth sport in Mississippi.

Mendenhall High School’s Kyle Dement and Simpson Academy’s Claire Polk each shot 294 to capture the overall male and female championships, respectively.

Simpson Academy and Columbia Academy swept their respective MAIS middle school and high school divisions and, in the AIMS High School Division, Petal (6A), Mendenhall (4A), and Union Church Christian Academy (1A) successfully defended their 2018 titles.
