2021 Youth Art Contest winners announced

The Visitor Education Center (VEC) received artwork from students across Mississippi for the 2021 Youth Art Contest. Congratulations to the first-place winners:

  • Annalee LeDuff – Madison, MS/Jackson Academy (ages 16-19)
  • Anthony Loper – Water Valley, MS/Water Valley High (ages 12-15)
  • Trinity Woodard – Olive Branch, MS/Olive Branch Intermediate (ages 8-11)
  • Amelia Watson – Collinsville, MS/West Lauderdale Elementary (ages 5-7)

The artwork of the top three finishers plus honorable mentions in each age group is available for viewing here. The contest was sponsored by the Foundation for Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.

The VEC is part of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is in Enid at Exit 233 east off I-55. The VEC is the first and only facility of its kind in Mississippi. The Center features a native-habitat area, a 10,000-gallon aquarium, interactive exhibits, displays, artifacts, a fishing rodeo pond, gift shop, and gallery. All these elements serve as entertaining and engaging learning experiences for all visitors.
