New Chairman of the Mississippi Commission of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks

JACKSON – Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, (MDWFP) is pleased to announce, Commissioner Bill F. Cossar, of Charleston, Mississippi, has been elected to serve as Chairman of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks for the coming year. Cossar a graduate of the University of Mississippi, has served four years of his five year term, having served as Vice Chairman for the past year. Cossar’s term as Chairman begins on July 1, 2018. Chairman Cossar comes from a long line of conservationists and truly has a passion for the outdoors and serving the Great State of Mississippi.
Filling the Vice-Chairman seat will be District 2 Commissioner, Mr. Scott Coopwood of Cleveland, Miss. "We look forward to the continued leadership these two members bring to the table as well as the hard work each of our Commissioners does to protect and enhance Mississippi's outdoor heritage," said Dr. Sam Polles, Executive Director of MDWFP
The five commissioners are appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for a five-year term.
