From MDWFP
Over the past year the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has been conducting a research project with Mississippi State University to study turkey habitat use. At four different sites across Mississippi, transmitters have been tied to turkeys in order to track their movements. With this information we hope to learn how turkeys utilize different landscapes and how they make decisions on selecting habitat. The implications, we hope, will be very useful to those who are managing land for turkey's.
