BATESVILLE AND OXFORD - Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) fisheries biologist, Nathan Aycock will present a program about sturgeon at the Visitor Education Center (VEC) on Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. Aycock will discuss the biology of sturgeon, their habits, and the current population status of several sturgeon species. Participants will have an opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session at the end of the program.
The program is free with the price of admission. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3 -17 and adults over the age of 60. For additional information, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.
The VEC is part of the MDWFP North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
