On Saturday, September 21st, experts from science-based industries across the state will lead hands-on experiences for children and families at the four museums in the Lefleur Museum District (LMD).

Each museum in the LMD (Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, Mississippi Children’s Museum, MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, and Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame) will showcase a range of career opportunities while sparking participants’ curiosity, excitement, and interest.

*Museum Memberships are not applicable on this date. Event admission grants entry to all four LMD museums.*

A FREE shuttle bus will be available during the event.

Food vendors will be at each site.

The following food vendors and exhibitors will be at MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science on 9/21/19 (subject to change / outside activities may temporarily close in the event of rain).

“Discover MS Eco-Regions with a Giant Floor Map”

Location: MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Classroom B 
For youth ages 10-14 (parents welcome)
 
Workshop is included with Mississippi Science Fest (MSF) admission, but RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED by Noon on September 20th. SPACE IS LIMITED.

Join the Mississippi Geographic Alliance in a hands-on (and feet-on!) MS Eco Region Map session where we learn about modern eco-regions and how paleo-ecology shapes them. Discover animals that lived in the shallow ocean that once covered Mississippi. 

MS DINO TALK:

Don't miss the "Mississippi Dino Talk" from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. 

Join paleontologist George Phillips in the museum's Rotwein Theatre for an interactive talk about Mississippi’s dinosaurs and other fossils.

What is a dinosaur? Would you recognize a dinosaur fossil if you saw one? How would you describe the characteristics shared by all dinosaurs?

Learn how to identify dinosaurs and distinguish them from other animals many people mistake for dinosaurs. The program begins with a Dinosaur Test!

This program is included in your MS Science Fest admission. Recommended for grades 5 and up, but younger guests are welcome with their adults.
