Entering 5K Camp: 
Registration Limit: 15

Go Outdoors....Camp! (Entering 5K) is a partial day camp designed just for inquisitive and active minds! Each day will include outdoor explorations, an encounter with a live animal, a craft activity, a story, and a camp song. In a guided and creative setting, children discover how exciting and fun the great outdoors can be!

  • May 29 – June 1
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $140.00 for members
  • $160.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut-free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

1st - 2nd Grade Camp:
Registration Limit: 40

Go Outdoors ... Camp! (1st-2nd) is a partial day camp designed to support 1st-2nd Grade inquisitive minds and active nature! We will explore the outdoors, hike trails, and encounter live native animals. Join us for fun songs, crafts, and activities!

  • May 29 – June 1
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $140.00 for members
  • $160.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut-free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

3rd - 4th Grade Camp: 
Registration Limit: 40

Go Outdoors...Camp! (3rd-4th) engages young campers in a variety of outdoor nature activities including hiking, wetland exploration, arts and crafts, and outdoor skills - including archery and canoeing. Campers will develop their appreciation of the outdoors, compare habitats and learn about the plants and animal living in them, net aquatic species, and track woodland animals!

  • June 11 – June 14
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $150.00 for members
  • $175.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut-free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

5th - 6th Grade Camp
Registration Limit: 40

Go Outdoors...Camp! (Entering 5th-6th) engages young campers in a variety of outdoor nature activities including hiking, wetland exploration, arts and crafts, and survival skills to name a few. Compare habitats and the plants and animals living in them. Try your hand at archery, net aquatic species, track woodland animals, and munch some wild edibles! We will practice outdoor skills, learn about Mississippi wildlife, have a daily encounter with a native animal on Mon-Wed. Camp is from 8am-3pm, on Thursday, camp begins at 8 am and campers will have an overnight. Campers need to be picked up on Friday at 9 a.m.

  • June 18 – June 22
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $150.00 for members
  • $175.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut-free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

Junior Naturalist Camp (Grades 7, 8, 9): 
Registration Limit: 25

Jr. Naturalist Camp (Entering Grades 7,8,9) is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification, collection, and conservation of our native species for students entering Grades 7,8, and 9. On Monday-Wednesday, camp is from 8am-4pm. On Thursday, camp begins at 8 am and campers will have an overnight. Campers need to be picked up on Friday at 10 am.

  • June 4 – June 8
  • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • $150.00 for members
  • $175.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut-free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

Field Camp (Grades 10, 11, 12):
Registration Limit: 15

Field Camp (Grades 10, 11, 12) Field Camp is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification, collection, and conservation of our native species for students entering Grades 10-12. On Monday-Thursday, camp is from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with at least one overnight. Limited Space available for this camp!

  • June 25 – June 28
  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • $200.00 for members
  • $225.00 for non-members
  • Early drop off at 7:30 am *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*
  • Campers will need to bring a nut-free lunch and morning snack to camp. (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts) The museum will provide an afternoon snack.

 

GO OUTDOORS CAMP AT TISHOMINGO STATE PARK (Entering Grades 2-6)
Registration Limit: 14

This NEW day camp for kids who love to play outside will be held at Tishomingo State Park for campers entering 2nd thru 6th grades! 

Each day campers will hike trails, play games, learn about wildlife, and swim in the State Park pool.  It'll be an exciting week of Outdoors fun!

  • June 4- June 7
  • 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Museum Members: $90 (discounted from the regular rate of $140 to celebrate the Camp’s first Year)
  • Non-members: $100 (discounted from the regular rate of $160 to celebrate the Camp's first year)
  • Campers will need to bring a nut free lunch and snacks to camp.  (i.e. NO PEANUT BUTTER, ALMONDS, TRAIL MIX WITH NUTS, NUTELLA, OR ITEMS MADE IN A FACTORY that processes nuts).

Preschool Nature Discovery Camp 2018 (2 Sessions)

Preschool Camp is offered to 3-prek 5's.

This year’s preschool camp is all about Nature!

We will discover some of the interesting ways people use nature’s resources and ways that we can help protect them. 

There’s going to be lots of crafts, exploration, and animals to meet. Always come dressed to have fun and get messy!

Preschool Camp is offered in two identical sessions; one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Every Wednesday in June (6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th)

Session 1: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Click here to register.

Cost: Adults $6, Youth ages 3 and up, Children under 3 Free; Museum Members FREE

Session 2: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Click here to register.
