Holmes County State Park

The beautiful hardwood forests of Holmes County State Park are home to an abundance of wildlife and provide the scenic backdrop for outdoor activities. Built around two lakes, English 45 acres and Odum consisting of 14 acres, the park offers fishing and camping. Holmes County State Park offers easy access to the Interstate 55, which will bisect North and South Mississippi. The convenient location make Holmes County State Park a favorite retreat.
Park Directions
North from Jackson, MS on I-55: Take Exit 150 Durant. There will be a sign stating Holmes County State Park. Keep to the right. The park office is 1 ½ miles off the interstate. There is a flag pole to the left. Turn left at the flag pole and there is the park office.
South from I-55 from Memphis or Grenda: Take Exit 150 Durant. Turn left and cross over the bypass. Keep straight 1 ½ miles. There is a flag pole to the left. Turn left and there is the park office.

Day-use
A day use entry fee is charged on a per vehicle basis.
Developed Camping
The 28 sites available for RV camping feature picnic tables and grills, water and electrical hook-ups, and a central sewage dumping station. A bath-house with hot showers is located in the developed camping area. Smoking is not allowed in any Mississippi government building.
Monthly camping may be available. Please check with the park office for availability.
Picnic Area/Shelter
The Park's three picnic areas are equipped with tables and grills and afford views of the water. Two large picnic pavilions are available for reservation, providing the perfect spot for family reunions, company picnics, and church or school outings.
Boat Launching
Holmes County State Park offers two fishing lakes, both well-stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. English Lake is equipped with a boat launch. Odom Lake has no boat launch area.
Fishing
Holmes County State Park offers two fishing lakes, both well stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. Fishing is permitted with a fee. A Mississippi fishing license is required for all persons between the ages of 16 and 65. Licenses may be purchased from the park office for a nominal fee.
