2022 Operation Dry Water Enforcement Statistics

Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) has concluded a heightened awareness and enforcement campaign known as Operation Dry Water (ODW).  ODW raises awareness about the dangers of boating under the influence (BUI). Conservation Officers were active statewide conducting saturation patrols over the holiday weekend enforcement period, July 2 – 4.

Officers responded to one boating incident with no fatalities; however, one drowning was reported for the state.

MDWFP concluded the holiday period with the following statistics:

  • 414 total citations
  • 46 alcohol and drug violations
  • 25 BUI arrests
  • 1,792 safety checks
