ENTERING 5K CAMP SESSION 1:  

Online Registration Limit: 12 

Go Outdoors .... Camp! (Entering 5K) is a partial day camp designed just for inquisitive and active minds! Each day will include outdoor explorations, an encounter with a live animal, a craft activity, a story, and a camp song. In a guided and creative setting, children discover how exciting and fun the great outdoors can be! No food will be provided. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and reusable water bottle daily. 

  • May 31 - June 3, 2022 
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • $200.00 for MMNS Foundation Members 
  • $225.00 for Non-Members

Go Outdoors...Camp! (3rd-4th) engages young campers in a variety of outdoor nature activities including hiking, wetland exploration, arts and crafts, and outdoor skills (EX:  Archery).  Compare habitats and learn about the plants and animals living in them, net aquatic species, and track woodland animals. No food will be provided. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and reusable water bottle daily. 

  • June 20 - 23, 2022 
  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. 
  • $200.00 for MMNS Foundation Members  
  • $225.00 for Non-Members

Online Registration Limit:  30 

Go Outdoors...Camp! (Entering 5th-6th) engages young campers in a variety of nature activities including hiking, canoeing, archery, wetland exploration, and arts and crafts.  Campers will learn about habitats, natural resources, and have live animal encounters.  

Monday-Wednesday, camp is from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. On Thursday, camp begins at 8 a.m. and campers will spend the night in the aquariums hall at the museum. Campers need to be picked up on Friday by 9 a.m.

The only food provided will be dinner Thursday night and breakfast Friday morning. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.  

  • June 27 - July 1, 2022 
  • 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday-Wednesday; Thursday 8 a.m. - Friday 9 a.m.
  • $225.00 for MMNS Foundation Members

JR. NATURALIST CAMP (ENTERING GRADES 7 AND 8)  

Online Registration Limit:  20 

Jr. Naturalist Camp (Entering Grades 7 and 8) is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification, collection, and conservation of our native species! Investigate nature: LeFleur's Bluff trails, Pearl River, & Mayes Lake; Take a Field Trip; Canoe, hike, and spend the night at Roosevelt State Park on Thursday night (group cabins). On Monday-Wednesday, camp is from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. On Thursday, camp begins at 8 a.m. and campers will have an overnight at Roosevelt State Park. Campers need to be picked up on Friday by 10 a.m. 

The only food provided will be dinner Thursday night and breakfast Friday morning. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.  

  • June 6 - 10, 2022 
  • 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday-Wednesday; Thursday 8 a.m. - Friday 10 a.m.
  • $300.00 for MMNS Foundation Members 
  • $350.00 for Non-Members

FIELD CAMP (ENTERING GRADES 9, 10, 11, 12)  

Online Registration LIMIT: 12 

Field Camp (Grades 9, 10, 11, 12) Field Camp is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification and conservation of our native species, as well as, exploring different career opportunities in the fields of conservation and research for students entering Grades 9-12. Camp begins on Monday and will last until Friday morning. Campers will leave the Museum and travel to the Delta where they will study specific habitat and indigenous species. Campers will stay at Leroy Percy State Park Monday-Wednesday nights. Thursday night, campers will spend the night in tents on a sand bar on the bank of the Mississippi River after a short paddle with Quapaw Canoes to reach it. Their guides are experts who take thousands of people on the river every year. We will return to the museum on Friday where campers need to be picked up by noon. Campers will bring a lunch on Monday and money for three restaurant (fast food) meals. All remaining meals will be provided by the camp. Campers are welcome to bring their own snacks. A refillable water bottle will be needed at all times.

  • 8 a.m. Monday - 12 p.m. Friday 
  • $550.00 for MMNS Foundation Members 
  • $600.00 for Non-Members

ART IN NATURE CAMP

Join us as we explore the exciting world of art and creativity through a wide range of multi-media activities. We will learn to investigate our surroundings while recognizing the fundamentals of art as they appear in nature. Line, shape, color, and texture will be the four daily topics. Nature will be our inspiration. This half day camp is designed for the inquisitive minds of children grades 1st-3rd. No food will be provided. Please send campers with a snack and reusable water bottle daily. 

  • June 27 – June 30
  • 8AM - 12PM
  • $120.00 for MMNS Foundation Members
  • $140.00 for Non-Members
  • No early drop off *Late pickup will result in Late fees of $10.00 per 10 minutes*

 

MUSEUM ADVENTURES CAMP

Museum Adventures Camp is a full-day camp that runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. It is designed for campers in grades 1st -6th. Campers will be split by age group (1st-3rd grade, 4th-6th grade) and may participate in different activities. Each day will feature a different theme (birds, fish, mammals, reptiles, and dinosaurs) that includes Museum exhibits, activities, games, animal encounters, and crafts.

No food will be provided. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and reusable water bottle daily.

Campers can register for the whole week or individual days.  

  • August 1 - 5, 2022 
  • 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
  • $250.00/week, $55/day for MMNS Foundation Members 
  • $275.00/week, $60/day for Non-Members 
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m., Late pick up at 5:30 p.m. *Late pickup after 5:30 p.m. will result in a late fee of $10.00 per 10 minutes* 

 

 

GO OUTDOORS CAMP AT LAKE LAMAR BRUCE 

Go Outdoors Camp at Lake Lamar Bruce in Saltillo, MS will engage campers in hands-on activities designed to increase outdoors skills and foster a love of nature. Activities will include fishing, hiking, survival skills, birding, and more. There will be hands-on lessons in forestry, herpetology, water ecology, and animal tracking. This is a day camp with an optional overnight campout. Camp will begin at 8 a.m. Drop off may begin at 7:45 a.m. On Tuesday and Wednesday, pick up is at 3:30 p.m. Thursday is an optional overnight campout by the lake. Campers who choose not to spend the night but wish to participate in night activities can be picked up at 9:30 p.m. (or earlier by arrangement). On Friday, campers will be picked up by 9 a.m. 

The only food provided will be dinner Thursday night and breakfast Friday morning. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.
