The lake is still down enough that nearly all fishing pressure
is coming from bank anglers. For the most part, anglers are
tightlining for bream and catfish with redworms and nightcrawlers.
A few anglers are walking the banks throwing spinnerbaits
and Texas-rigs for bass.
When the lake refills, here is the late Fall/Winter fishing
Without a doubt, one of the best destinations for NE MS anglers
that fish during the winter months. Crappie anglers will be
plentiful, targeting mainlake points and flats in 20 to 30 feet of
water. Small hair jigs seem to out produce minnows. The bass will
be in similar areas as the crappie, with texas-rigged finesse
worms, jigging spoons, and 1 oz. spinnerbaits, Alabama rigs being
good bait choices. Other than points, target the creek channels on
each side of the lake for bass, crappie and bream. Contact the Park

reports will pick back up the first week of February.
