SUMMER CAMP: MIDDLE SCHOOL & UP - Register Here!

JR. NATURALIST CAMP (Entering Grades 7-8)

Jr. Nat Camp is an intensive outdoor camp for youth going into seventh through ninth grade. Camp runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day with the last day having an overnight field trip at Percy Quinn State Park. These outdoor enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore the outdoors with state biologists and educators while learning about ecology and conservation. Jr. Naturalists will have the ultimate camp experience hiking, collecting, exploring, swimming, and canoeing while making new friends.  

  • June 5-9, 2023 
  • Mon-Wed: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Thurs 8 a.m. – Fri 10 a.m.
  • $325 for MMNSF Members 
  • $375 for non-members 
  • Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. *Late pickup will result in late fees of $10 per 10 minutes* 

FIELD CAMP (Entering Grades 9-12) - FULL

THIS CAMP IS FULL.

Students entering grades 9-12, are you interested in science, the outdoors, and learning about your environment? Have you ever thought about spending the day with a researcher in the field?  

Well, if so, this is your camp. The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science’s High School Field Camp is just what you need. We will be spending the week on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with biologists to research diamond back terrapins, MS gulf coast fish, the bay of MS, as well as, MS sandhill cranes and a local fossil site. We are excited to be spending the week with these research scientists and learning about these different coastal habitats. We will kayak/canoe, camp, as well as many other outdoor activities. This camp is not for the faint of heart, however it is truly a one-of-a-kind camp and will give you a new perspective of what true scientists do daily. Come join us and explore the MS Gulf Coast and its amazing wildlife and beauty. We will be staying at Camp Wilkes in Biloxi each night. 

  • June 12-16, 2023

  • $575 for MMNSF Members 
  • $625 for non-members
