Limited English Proficiency
As a recipient of federal-aid funding, MDWFP is committed to nondiscrimination in all its programs and activities whether or not those programs and activities are federally funded. English is the predominant language of the United States. The United States is also, however, home to millions of national origin minority individuals who are “limited English proficient” (LEP). That is, they cannot speak, read, write or understand the English language at a level that permits them to interact effectively. The MDWFP seeks to ensure that its services are accessible to these individuals. Requests for reasonable accommodation pertaining to LEP, or complaints pertaining to LEP discrimination should be directed to MDWFP’s Title VI Civil Rights Act.
