Species | Detail |
---|---|
Largemouth Bass | Bass fishing has been fair. Try pitching jigs, shaky heads, soft stick baits, or crawfish imitations near the end of deeper docks. Spinnerbaits are typically good this time of year as well. Muddy Bayou may be holding bass when a current is present, fish can be found around the bridge pilings, fallen timber, and docks. |
Crappie | Crappie fishing has been good. As water temperatures continue to rise, more fish should be pushing shallow. Anglers have been locating fish scattered in all water depths. Some anglers have had success fishing shallow from the grass out to 5-8 feet of water. Others are locating schools of fish suspended in 10-20 feet of water and catching them between 8 and 15 feet. |
Bream | Bream fishing is slow. Try targeting bream with redworms, crickets. Try fishing in 8-15 feet of water around docks. A good area to catch bream is near Muddy Bayou around deep cover. |
Catfish | Catfishing is slow with most of the catfish being caught by crappie anglers. Catfish will still be holding out deep. Try worms, liver, or cut bait fished on or near the bottom. The western side of the lake is popular for catfish, and anglers often use rod & reel, trotlines, and limblines. |
White Bass | White bass can be caught with crankbaits and spinner baits. Try fishing deeper water around piers and open areas out from the piers. Fishing near the mouth of Muddy Bayou can be good when there is current. |
