SpeciesDetail
Largemouth BassBass fishing has been fair. Try targeting bass in vegetation in buck chute, the docks along the Mississippi side, and in the cypress trees along float row. Top water baits like buzz baits and poppers can produce fish early. Spinnerbaits, chatter-baits, and lipless crankbaits would be good choices as well. Blue/black, green pumpkin and watermelon jigs and soft plastics work well around the cypress trees.
CrappieCrappie fishing is good. Anglers are targeting crappie in the deeper holes (20+ feet of water) south of the boat ramp. Blue ice and Cajun cricket jigs as well as live minnows are excellent choices for bait.
BreamBream fishing has been fair. Try targeting bream in buck chute and the surrounding pad fields. Fishing crickets and redworms near the cypress trees can also produce fish.
CatfishCatfishing has been fair. Target catfish with night crawlers or kool-aid soaked chicken parts tightlined in deep water.
White BassTry targeting white bass around piers with little georges and spinnerbaits.
