Horseshoe Lake is a public lake located in Holmes County. It is managed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP), which oversees the lake's fisheries resources.
Horseshoe Lake, located near Tchula, is an 800-acre lake surrounded by agricultural land. MDWFP in conjunction with the Holmes County Board of Supervisors recently built a boat ramp which provides public access to the lake.
Cypress trees are abundant in the lake and line some of the shoreline. For the last several years MDWFP has been applying herbicides to control floating, invasive water hyacinths. These efforts will provide more access for boaters and anglers.
Statewide creel and size limits apply to all other fish species
