Tombigbee State Park Lake

The 90-acre lake at Tombigbee State Park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1934-1938. Historically, the lake has boasted good bream and crappie populations. The lake has an overabundance of Largemouth Bass, and anglers are encouraged to harvest smaller bass.

Fishing Report - Updated 11/18/2024

SpeciesDetail
BassBass fishing is slow and unpredictable this time of year. As we push later into the season and the water temperatures cool down, the fishing should improve. Try targeting points and cover in 3-5 feet of water. Texas-rigged plastics, shaky heads, and crankbaits all work well. You can also throwing small spinnerbaits and topwater lures around the water willow for action early in the morning or late in the evening. If overcast or rainy conditions are present, look for the water willow bite to extend to midday hours.
Crappie The crappie fishing is still slow, and few anglers are targeting them. Black and chartreuse jigs and/or minnows will both produce some bites. Try fishing around structure in water 15-25 ft deep. Wood cover and piers can be productive.
BreamBream fishing is slow. Most bream anglers are fishing cover and drop-offs close to traditional bedding areas. Crickets and worms either fished under a cork or tightlined on the bottom are working. Fishing at a depth of 5 - 8 feet of water around the piers and shoreline cover may be productive.
Catfish The catfish bite is slow and there are no reports this week from anglers. Early morning and twilight hours should be most productive for a bite. Target deeper water and woody cover with tight lined liver and/or worms. Don't overlook cut bait or live bait.
