Tombigbee State Park Lake

The 90-acre lake at Tombigbee State Park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1934-1938. Historically, the lake has boasted good bream and crappie populations. The lake has an overabundance of Largemouth Bass, and anglers are encouraged to harvest smaller bass.

Fishing Report - Updated 6/25/2024

SpeciesDetail
BassBass fishing is fair, as fish are in a post spawn pattern. The heat has slowed down the fishing pressure considerably. Anglers are targeting points and cover in 10-15 feet of water with Texas-rigged/shakeyhead plastics and soft jerkbaits. Topwater action occurring early in the morning or late in the evening around shallow cover.
Crappie The crappie fishing is slow to fair as they have moved into their summertime patterns. Black and chartreuse jigs and/or minnows will both produce some bites. Cover and piers seem to be the most productive with some success in 15 to 20 feet of water.
BreamBream fishing is fair to good with some bedding. Most fish caught seem to be coming just out from bedding areas along primary drop-offs and in the coves around cover. Crickets and worms either fished under a cork or tightlined on the bottom are working. Don't overlook small spinners as the bite improves.
Catfish The catfish bite is slow. Target drop-offs and deeper shoreline cover like laydowns with tight lined liver and/or worms.
