The Museum understands that while everyone needs to know about nature, not everyone can make it to the Museum. That's not a problem for the Museum's outreach team and partners. Through a wide range of specially designed programs, projects, and events, the Outreach Team brings the Museum to school children and adults statewide.
Remarkably, our outreach teachers directly instruct nearly 10% of the entire Mississippi Department of Education student population each year with dynamic interactive classroom programs conducted throughout the state.
Free educational programs about Mississippi wildlife are available for your classroom. Each age/grade-appropriate and inquiry-based program correlates with National Science Education Content Standards and the Mississippi State Frameworks.
Interactive, exciting, and unique presentations even include live native animal demonstrations! Learn about endangered species, adaptations and native ecosystems, plus much more!
