The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) will host a Choctaw Program on Saturday, July 13 at 2:00 p.m.

Allen Winters, the fourth great-grandson of Choctaw Chief Mushulatubi, will share insights into the Choctaw lifestyle and his work with the Choctaw Cultural Preservation Program. Winters will showcase native artifacts and perform flute music for the audience. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with Winters in a question and answer session at the end of the program.

The program is free with the price of admission. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60. For additional information, or to pre-register a youth for the event, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.

The VEC is part of the MDWFP’s Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
