The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ (MDWFP) Mississippi Museum of Natural Science (MMNS) invites you to experience the magic of Mississippi’s nighttime wildlife at Owl Prowl on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. This family-friendly event invites guests to explore the Museum after hours, meet live owls up close, and take a guided night hike in search of these mysterious birds of prey where they will learn how to listen for and identify different owl species. “Owls are fascinating creatures with incredible adaptations for life after dark. This event gives guests a rare chance to experience the Museum at night and connect with nature in a whole new way,” says Katie Tupy, MMNS Education Coordinator.

Visitors will also enjoy engaging live animal programs featuring owls and other nocturnal animals, see nighttime insects, make owl and bat crafts, dissect owl pellets, gather around the campfire, and eat delicious s'mores!
