A variety of recreational activities and facilities are available at J.P. Coleman State Park. Facilities for use include: visitor center and conference room, marina, boat launch, picnic tables and grills, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, swimming pool, and miniature golf. Fishing, boating, and water skiing are available on Pickwick Lake, a 47,500 acre freshwater lake.
Pickwick Lake is available for water sports and skiing. A boat launch ramp and trailer parking are provided in the park. An entrance fee is charged for day use guests.
The marina features three docks (A, B, and C) offering annual rental, one covered transient dock with 10-day rental, and a daily rental covered dock. Monthly rental at Docks A, B, and C includes the slip and water only. Electrical hookups of 30/50 amp are available for each slip (Docks A, B, and C). However, electrical service is provided by the local utility directly to the renter. The renter is responsible for contacting the utility company and setting up electrical service.
Additional marina services include fuel sales for boaters at the dock area and ice sales from the park office. The marina fueling area is available 24/7 with a card reader for fuel purchase. Marina only offers unleaded, non-ethanol fuel. There is no diesel available for purchase. Public restrooms are available at the marina. Restrooms are open seasonally.

A miniature golf course is set in a shady area near the swimming pool. The miniature golf course is open seasonally and a small fee is charged to play. The course is also available for reservation year round.

There are several picnic areas with tables located in the park.
A pavilion with several picnic tables is centrally located in the park. The pavilion can be reserved for a small fee. Please contact the park to reserve.
The park features a 15' x 60' swimming pool and a kiddy pool. A pool fee is charged. Arm bands are required. The pool is operated seasonally Thursday through Sunday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. No lifeguards are on duty. Swim at your own risk.
Children under the age of 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

The J.P. Coleman Lodge houses the visitor center, park office and conference room, townhouses, and motel. Register at the visitor center for use of park facilities and to check in for lodging and camping.
The lodge is set on the banks of the Tennessee River and features panoramic views of Pickwick Lake.
The conference/meeting room can accommodate up to 150 people. Contact the park office for specific information on facilities, reservations, costs, and local caterers.
Pickwick Lake offers 47,500 acres of freshwater for fishing and water sports. The lake is brimming with crappie, bream, catfish, sauger, walleye, and most species of bass. A Mississippi fishing license is required for all persons between the ages of 16 and 65 and may be purchased at the park office (Cash/Mastercard/Visa only). For fishing licenses purposes, please keep in mind that Pickwick Lake spans portions of three states.
For overnight guests only, complimentary fish cleaning stations are provided in the campground.
There are several options when it comes to staying overnight. The park offers 69 RV campsites, 9 primitive camping sites, 20 cabins (duplex style), 3 cottages, 16 motel rooms, and 3 townhouses. Most facilities are located with views of Pickwick Lake. Call park for details.
Campsites feature picnic tables, grills, electrical, water, and sewage hookups. Eleven campsites are waterfront and are considered premium sites. The majority of the campsites are located in a wooded area with views of water or adjacent forested hillsides.
All sites are available for advance reservations and can be reserved up to 12 months in advance by contacting the park office at (662) 423-6515, or by our online reservation system.
Monthly camping may be available on campsites 60 - 69 only. Please check with the park office for campsites 60 - 69.
Campsites 67 and 69 are only available for tents and pop-up campers. Call park to reserve!
A laundry facility is available for park campers at the lower campground bathhouse.
Two bathhouses with restrooms and hot showers are available for campers' use. A sewage dump station is conveniently located for those camping in the park.
The motel features three luxurious townhouses and sixteen motel rooms; two of the motel rooms are handicap accessible. All townhouses and motel rooms offer a view of Pickwick Lake and the majestic Tennessee River. TV service is by satellite. There are no telephones or Internet connection in the rooms.
Each townhouse features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a great room. The bedrooms have two queen beds each and a balcony overlooking the river. The great room is located on the ground level and features a full-size kitchen, serving counter, dining area, and seating area. The great room opens to a patio overlooking Pickwick Lake.
Motel rooms feature a kitchenette with basic cooking utensils, two queen-size beds, and one bathroom. Handicap-accessible rooms (rooms 105 and 106) have one queen-size bed, kitchenette, and one bathroom. Each motel room features a balcony overlooking Pickwick Lake.
Reservations are recommended and are accepted up to 12 months in advance. Smoking and pets are not allowed in state park buildings.
J.P. Coleman offers nine tent camping sites overlooking Indian Creek. Water is not available on the sites. While there are picnic tables available for campers, there are no grills for guest use. A bathhouse located in the developed campground is within walking distance of the primitive area. All primitive sites are walk-up only.
J.P. Coleman features 20 one-bedroom duplex cabins, which offer a view of Indian Creek. Furnished beds, bath linens, TV (satellite service), basic kitchen equipment, grill, and picnic table. All cabins are air conditioned and heated. Some have screened porches. Four units have fireplaces with gas log inserts. Cabins accommodate up to four people. Reservations are strongly recommended and are accepted up to 12 months in advance. Smoking and pets are not allowed in state park buildings.
Cottages are two-bedroom units with one queen bed, one full-size bed, and a combination living, dining, and kitchen area. All cottages have central air/heat. Cottages are furnished with bed and bath linens, TV (satellite service), basic kitchen equipment, grill, and picnic table. Smoking and pets are not allowed in state park buildings.
