Why are dates blocked off on the reservation site?

We are undergoing a software update to our Mississippi State Parks reservation system. To help make this transition as smooth as possible, reservations beyond April 1, 2023, have been blocked. Once the update is complete, all reservations will be converted to the new software, and all future dates will be available to reserve again.

When the new system goes live, you will notice that our reservation landing page has a brand-new look! We hope this new software will make reservations easier and more accessible to Mississippi State Parks visitors.

If I'm arriving after 5:00 P.M., how do I check in?

If you foresee arriving for your stay after 5:00 P.M., please notify the park. The front office will create arrangements with you to access your cabin or campsite.

Do I need to set up an account with the new reservation system?

No. the new reservation system will save your customer information to your email address via a two-factor authentication process. Users will "login" to their "My Reservations" page by using their email address and entering the code sent to that email.

Do you share my payment method or personal information?

No. Payment methods and personal information will always be kept confidential.

Can I still use the MS. State Park app?

No. The Mississippi State Park app was attached to our previous reservation vendor and will therefore no longer be available once we launch our new system. Our new reservatin system is a mobile-first platform and will be much easier to navigate on your smartphone or other mobile devices.

Can I still call the park directly to book a reservation?

Yes, but we encourage you to visit PARKS RESERVATIONS or call 1-800-GO-PARKS to speak to our local reservation specialists.

What are the call center hour for 1-800-GO-PARKS?

Our call center is open seven days a week from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and only closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

What if I want to cancel my reservation?

While we hate to see you go and would love to work with you on rescheduling your stay to better fit your needs, you are allowed to cancel your reservation. Please refer to our cancelation policy.

What happens if MDWFP cancels my reservation?

If MDWFP is unable to honor your reservation due to unforeseen circumstances, we would be happy to assist you in rescheduling your visit or issuing you a full refund. For information on what circumstances will allow for a full refund, visit our refund/cancellation policy.

Will there be vouchers?

As we launch the new reservation system, Mississippi State Parks is no longer offering vouchers. We will, of course, honor all currently issued vouchers.

Why do your rates seem to change from night to night?

Our reservation rates can vary based on demand and availability and can change from day to day. Our online reservation portal makes browsing through multiple dates easy. keep in mind, the pricing you see today might not be the same tomorrow. Don't miss out on booking your stay.

Why did I pay a different rate for my campsite/cabin than the person next to me?

(Location as well as the timing of reservation)

Our rates vary based on several factors including time of booking and classification of the campsite or cabin.

Why do general rates cost more than in previous years?

Our rates are susceptible to changes based on demand and availability. At the time of booking, if demand is high or availability is limited for the dates you want, then the rate will be higher than for other dates. If demand is low, the rate will be lower. This pricing structure will allow us to continue to invest in the improvements of our park system's infrastructure and amenities.

I'm trying to make a reservation online, but I don't meet the minimum length of stay

Due to demand, we currently require a minimum length of stay. The length of stay requirement may vary depending on the days of the week your reservation is. If you would like us to assist you in finding alternative dates that better fit your schedule, please visit our website or give us a call at 1-800-GO-PARKS.

What is the reservation fee I see attached to my reservation?

The reservation fee you now see helps the agency cover the cost of implementing and maintaining our brand new, user-focused reservation system.
