Step 1. Excavate the area to place the foothold trap.
Step 2. Bed the trap into the excavated area firmly.
Step 3. Lightly conceal the trap with dry material through a sifting screen.
Step 4. Note the location of the trap after concealment.
Step 5. Place stepping sticks or other natural materials to guide the target animal into the trap's location from the best direction.
