Hunter/Boater Instructor Certification
Many hunter and boater education courses across the State of Mississippi are taught by volunteers, who are the "backbone" of the program. Being a Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor takes time and dedication, but it provides many personal rewards.
Please read carefully the following steps for becoming a volunteer. If you have any questions, please contact your Regional Hunter/Boater Education Coordinator.
Hunter Education Instructor Requirements
Applicants must meet the below requirements. Once applicants have submitted an application and met the requirements, a Regional Coordinator will be in contact.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have successfully completed the basic student Mississippi Hunter Education Course.
- Complete the application - Download the application.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation.
- Must teach one hunter education class per year, once certified.
Boater Education Instructor Requirements
Applicants must meet the below requirements. Once applicants have submitted an application and met the requirements, a Regional Coordinator will be in contact.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have successfully completed the basic boater education course..
- Complete the application - Download the application.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation.
- Must teach one hunter education class per year, once certified.
