Bass | The bass bite is fair and continues to pick up. Shallow grassy areas have been the most successful. Water temps are slowly increasing with the consistent warm weather and the fish should be moving into more shallow water. Depths may differ from day to day, but the 10 - 15 ft range would be a good place to start. Suspending jerkbaits, Alabama-rigs, and shakeyhead are good options right now. |
Crappie | For crappie, target deeper points with cover or the coves where they may be coming shallow (5-10 ft) to feed. Some folks with FFS are finding fish and getting bites. Both minnows and jigs should be good to get you a few bites. The GPS coordinates of some of the off shore brush tops are listed below |
Bream | The bream bite is good. We are seeing this bite pick up and people are getting their daily limits already. Target deeper shoreline cover and laydowns. Tight lining red worms or wax worms is the best technique during this time of year. The creek channel in the upper part of the lake is also a good place to look for fish, particularly around the old bridge crossing. |
Catfish | The catfish bite is slow and we have no recent reports from anglers. Tight lining liver, cut bait, and/or night crawlers is the preferred technique for most anglers who are targeting catfish. Look for the deeper laydowns, off shore brush tops, the creek channel, and the fishing piers to hold a few fish. |
