Weekly fishing reports will return in February. Below are some tips for fishing in winter and early spring.
Bass | Bass should be targeted along the creek channel around deep structure and along the dam. New structure was added during November of this year and should be good spots to fish during the winter months. Crank baits and spinner baits are popular lures this time of year. On warmer days, fish may be located in shallower water back in the coves or on points where structure is present. |
Crappie | Crappie can be targeted around creek ledges and deep structure. Fish attractor buoys can be good places to try also. Minnows or jigs fished vertically or trolled in these areas should produce some nice fish. |
Bream | Bream should be targeted at depths of 4 - 10 ft around brush piles or creek channels with crickets or red worms. |
Catfish | Catfish should be targeted at depths of 8 - 15 ft along creek ledges and deep structure. Chicken liver or worms should be good choices for bait. |
