Bass | The bass bite is somewhat tough and unpredictable. Some anglers are having success while others are struggling to find fish. With the weather starting to warm up, we may see the fish moving shallow into their pre-spawn patterns. A productive place to fish may be the creek channel, but don’t overlook the laydowns on the deep banks adjacent to the channel. Jig-n-pig combos, Alabama-rigs, rattletraps, and shakeyhead worms will out produce most other baits. |
Crappie | While the bite is still pretty slow, crappie anglers are targeting the deeper brush along the creek channel and adjacent. The best depths will range anywhere from 10 to 25 feet deep. Jigs or jig/minnow combinations will be the best bait choices. |
Bream | Bream bite is slow and most likely won't pick up for a few more weeks. Target bream around any woody cover in the 6 – 10 ft. depth range. Typically, tight lining worms is the best technique. |
Catfish | Target the creek channel and around the deeper points with night crawlers, cut shad, and/or liver. Tight lining is the most popular technique for catfish. |
