Fishing Report - Updated 6/25/2024
Bass | Bass fishing has slowed a bit recently. Try fishing with Texas-rigged soft plastics, flukes, and deep diving crankbaits. A few anglers are having success with topwater lures in the early morning and late evening. |
Crappie | The crappie bite has slowed, but some are still being caught. Minnows and jigs are working as well as anything, but experiment with different color combos to find what they prefer. |
Bream | The bream fishing is good, and both boat and bank anglers are having success. Crickets and/or red worms under a cork are the bait of choice, but don't overlook small spinners around cover and along primary drop-offs. |
Catfish | Catfish bite is slow, with few reports from anglers. Early morning and evening may be the most productive time to fish. Try tight lining worms, liver, or kool-aid flavored chicken. |
Water temperature: 90
Visibility: 36"

Fish Attractors
In January of 2022, MDWFP personnel sank donated Christmas trees in Lake Monroe. The brush piles are a good way to upcycle leftover Christmas trees and create fishing hot spots.
