Neshoba Lake

Neshoba County Lake is a 138-acre lake 7 miles southeast of Philadelphia on Hwy 486 in Neshoba County. The lake was transferred to the State by the Neshoba County American Legion. After repairs, the lake was reopened in 1985 as a State Lake. It is an exceptional fishery for Largemouth Bass.

Fishing Report - Updated 6/25/24

BassNo new report. Bass fishing is poor. Try throwing buzzbaits early followed by wacky rigged worms and spinnerbaits as the day progresses. Vegetation lines, points, and bends in the creek channels are excellent places to start. 
Crappie No new report. Crappie fishing has been poor with few angler reports.
BreamNo new report. Bream fishing has been poor. Try bream fishing around woody cover and vegetation with red worms or crickets.
Catfish No new report. Catfishing has been slow. Try tightlining nightcrawlers and kool-aid soaked chicken.

Lake Regulations

  • Rod and reel or pole fishing is allowed. No trotlines, FFFD’s, jugs, yoyo’s, limblines, throwlines, or set hooks are allowed. 
  • Sport fishing licenses and fishing permits are required except on designated days during National Fishing and Boating Week. 
  • Fishing is not allowed from courtesy piers adjacent to boat ramps. 
  • Night fishing is allowed from the bank or boats which are in compliance with state and Coast Guard regulations.
  • Skiing is prohibited.

Record Fish

Record fish must be weighed and verified by the lake manager, lake supervisor, or fisheries biologist. Anglers who catch a lake record fish will receive a certificate acknowledging their catch.
