Fishing Report - Updated 11/18/2024
Species | Detail |
---|---|
Bass | The bass bite is slow still. Expect the bite to improve as the temperatures decrease. Anticipate them decreasing within the next week or two as the cold weather starts to roll in. Texas-rigged soft plastics, flukes, spinnerbaits and crankbaits are all popular lure choices. Topwater action is best during early mornings and evenings. Trace Lake is bass-crowded and anglers are encouraged to keep a limit of bass under 13". |
Crappie | The crappie bite is slow. Jigs and minnows are most productive baits. Try fishing around structure or woody cover for some potential success. A spray-on fish attractant is also helpful because a large part of the crappie’s predatory instinct is scent-driven. |
Bream | No reports of Bream productivity this week. Anglers are tightlining red worms and/or crickets along the points, piers, and the banks around any laydowns in 5 - 15 feet of water. Check creek channels and woody cover for productivity. |
Catfish | Catfish are slow to bite. Late in the evening or early morning may be the most productive time. As with bream, the creek channels should be good for catfish. Try tightlining with liver, worms, hot dogs, or cut bait. |
